Finish what you started.
A macOS focus app that picks up where you left off, blocks the distractions you choose, and helps you get unstuck without leaving your work.
Join the betaYour work doesn't end when the timer does.
Start a Commitment for anything bigger than one sitting. Each session resumes at the first unfinished step.
How NimbusApp works.
Follow one Commitment from the first step to done.
Illustrative demo. Nothing is captured until you select.
Choose how much you commit.
Three levels, from a gentle reminder to the hardest session to walk away from. You pick one each time you start.
Soft
Keep me aware.
Nothing is blocked. NimbusApp can check in when you leave the apps or sites you chose, or go idle.
Focus
Get distractions out of my way.
The distractions you choose are blocked. Ending early, editing the list or changing mode takes a deliberate 60-second wait.
Locked
Make it difficult for me to give up impulsively.
Only the apps and sites you allow stay open. Ending early takes a deliberate one-minute reset.
Apps you choose are hidden, never quit, so your work isn't lost. Websites are blocked in supported Chromium-based browsers through the NimbusApp extension. Safari and Firefox aren't supported yet.
Your work, in steps.
A Commitment is the plan you come back to: the steps of the work, and where you are in them.

- Implement tokenizer, done
- Debug parser, current step
- Write tests, to do

Come back tomorrow.
Tomorrow's session starts where today's stopped. Progress shows what happened, not a grade: time focused, sessions, and the commitments you moved forward.
You've focused for 13 hours across 20 sessions since October 13, and moved one commitment forward.

You choose what NimbusApp sees.
NimbusApp doesn't watch or continuously record your screen.
When you ask for help, you select the part of your screen you want NimbusApp to use.
- No continuous screen capture.
- Screen context is shared only when you explicitly select it for Get Unstuck.
- Your selection, your question and the task you're working on are sent to OpenAI using your own API key.
- Your API key is stored in the macOS Keychain, not in NimbusApp's settings files.
More about privacy
- Screenshots are kept in memory only and are never written to disk. They are released when you start a new conversation or quit NimbusApp.
- During a session, NimbusApp compares the front app and your browser tab's site against the list you chose, and notices when you've been inactive so it can check in. It does not read what is on screen to do this.
- Records of blocked website attempts keep only the hostname, the browser and the time. Never full addresses.
- Step suggestions are optional and off by default. If you turn them on and ask for suggestions, your Commitment's title and steps, and the names of apps and sites you used during sessions, are sent to OpenAI.
- The app has no analytics or advertising trackers.
This website has no analytics or advertising trackers. Cloudflare Turnstile is used to protect the waitlist from automated abuse.
Before you join
What Macs are supported?
Apple silicon Macs, on macOS 11 or later. Intel Macs are not supported.
Do I need an OpenAI API key?
Yes. NimbusApp uses your own OpenAI API key for Get Unstuck and optional step suggestions. It's stored in your Mac's Keychain, and OpenAI bills usage to your account.
What browsers does website blocking support?
Chromium-based browsers, through the NimbusApp browser extension. During the beta, setup uses your browser's developer mode. Beta invites include instructions.
What does NimbusApp see on my screen?
Only the part you select, when you ask for help. NimbusApp doesn't watch or continuously record your screen. More about privacy
How will beta access work?
